Daily Update - Tuesday

Thanks to all of you who have stepped up to help the local First Responders with protective face masks!  They are very appreciative of our assistance.  We know that many of you are also trying to keep friends and family safe and healthy as they self-quarantine and you are also contributing a valuable service.

Stitcher's Quest is currently open on reduced hours 11:00 to 5:00 Monday thru Thursday, 11:00 to 4:00.

As you may know, Bernina of America offices and warehouse is located in Illinois.  We learned this morning that they will continue to have limited shipping available during the Illinois lockdown because they are 1)  supplier of household appliances and 2) supplier of products to those who work from home.

In the past few days, as this crisis has developed, we have become aware of a local shortage of supplies and knowledge of making protective face masks.  Although we have run short on the elastic bands, we are expecting a new shipment in later today and are taking orders.  Our flannel is also running low - we are out of solid colors but still have a couple of prints available.

The protective face mask pattern we have found to be most popular is from www.deaconess.com, a medical hospital.  Please keep in mind that these masks are intended to be washable.  If you have been around someone who has or may have the virus, a mask should be removed and changed after you are away from them and have washed your hands.  The discarded mask should be disposed of if non-washable and laundered/sanitized if washable.  Keeping distance and staying clean are the top two factors in avoiding the spread of a virus.

As always, we hope that you and yours are safe and well.
