Comfort & Joy - a Kimberbell 2-day Event
This class location will be at our Blue Lake Camp in Andalusia, AL. All participants must register for both the camp and classes.

This newly announced Kimberbell Event will have several Christmas-themed projects. Kits with all fabrics and stabilizers will be provided. You will need to bring your own embroidery machine with a minimum hoop size of 5"x7".

Supplies needed:
Embroidery Machine in good working order that you know how to operate.
Basic machine maintenance kit: cleaning brush, tweezers, screwdriver, oil.
Bobbins and bobbin thread (60wt)
Assortment of embroidery thread for Christmas-themed projects: Black, white, red, green, yellow, gold, etc.
(Kimberbell recommends Glide thread)
Double curved embroidery scissors.
Grippy grid mat (optional, but helpful)
Extra machine needles
Extra bobbin

Glue Stick
Basic sewing supplies: Rotary Cutter, Quilter's Ruler (6"x12"), scissors, snips, seam ripper, tear-away tape, pins, Wonder Clips, Stiletto or Purple Thang.

| Skill Details: | A beginner class will be taught from a first-time perspective. Intermediate and advanced courses require previous experience with sewing, quilting, and embroidery. These skill levels should be considered when you are registering for a course in consideration of the other attendees who will have expectations of the named skill level and would not require the instructor to teach basic skills during an advanced course or go faster/skip instruction during a beginner course. All attendees are responsible for bringing a sewing machine in good working order and knowing how to operate it. Instruction focuses on cutting (when noted), sewing techniques, and assembly of the project. |

| Instructor Bio: | Margaret started sewing as a pre-teen, making many of her own clothes as many of us used to. When she had extra money, she would go to the fabric store, pick out a pattern, and buy fabric. In addition to making clothing, she made lots of various craft projects as well as square-dance clothes for her parents. Her sewing slowed down after she got married and had kids, but as she got to the point of thinking about retirement, she re-started her hobby. What better hobby than something she had enjoyed most of her life!!! So, she talked an adult education teacher into offering a beginner quilting class. That's all it took to start a love of quilting. Eventually, she moved on to taking classes at a local quilt shop and expanded her knowledge and skills. When she started at Stitcher's Quest, she was thrilled to be working in a quilt shop and has been amazed at how much more there was to learn. She continued to learn daily from doing projects, from co-workers, and from customers! She loves new projects, new techniques, new challenges, and especially loves seeing new quilters learning and loving what they are doing!!! |
