Why do people love to quilt? Reasons include: Creating heirlooms and warm gifts, enjoying the mental stimulation of math, problem solving, and design, expressing creativity and artistry, connecting with other creative people. Learning to quilt is a journey and this course will start you on the path with two table runner projects. We will discuss and practice the basic techniques, from color choices to final binding, for a successful quilt.

| Requirements: | First class date is Thursday, Jan 30. A copy of Start Quilting by Alex Anderson is required and can be purchased at Stitcher’s Quest. This book was also purchased by Beginning Quilting students from 2024. Kit fee of $80 will be collected to cover fabric and batting for both projects. Registered students should come to Stitcher’s Quest during week of Jan 21 to pay kit fee and choose their fabric. Fabric should be pressed prior to first class. Students should bring basic sewing tools (scissors, seam ripper, pins, etc.) BERNINA sewing machines will be provided by Stitcher’s Quest for use during class. |
