Girl With the Pearl Earring

Portrait Art in fabric with raw-edge applique. Art Quilting - We'll turn this classic portrait by Johannes Vemeer into a quilted image suitable for proud display. Once you've tried this class, you're going to want to transfer the technique to family portraits!
During class we will discuss the method of converting an image to a pattern and pattern to fabric. We will be tracing the pattern onto Pattern Ease and Steam-A-Seam, cutting out, assembling, and pressing into place. All sewing will be done after class by either machine or hand - your choice. The provided kit will contain all fabric, batting, and products necessary to assemble the piece. You should bring with you a pencil and two colors of ultra fine (micro) sharpies - suggested red and black - as well as small scissors for cutting paper and fabric.
