As the summer ends and our college student, Sabrina, leaves the area, I'm glad to announce that Vickie Christian will be joining our staff on a regular basis. 
Welcome Vickie! New in the shop: The Brianna Collection from In The Beginning Fabrics - in both the Spice and Periwinkle colorways - and the My Sewing Room Collection by Henry Glass, which includes a terrifically fun panel. The web photos just cant do them justice, so stop in soon to see these lovely prints!
Stitcher's Quest is proud to sponsor a quilt project to benefit Fort Walton Beach High School Band. In addition to the band members who will be assembling the quilt blocks, we will also need some assistance from experienced quilters. Please contact the shop if you are interested in volunteering an hour or two to this worthwhile project. 
Speaking of volunteers...I've recently returned from Bernina's national conference (BU) where I attended several seminars, including an informational session on "Quilts For Kids" - an organization of volunteer quilters who transform fabric into patchwork quilts that comfort children in need. Local chapters of this organization provide quilts that stay within the community. Stitcher's Quest would like to adopt Quilts For Kids and sponsor a local chapter with a monthly workshop location (our classroom) and fundraising support. If you are interested in helping to start a chapter, please contact me (Judy) for more details.

We will be doing the Rail Fence pattern from "Start Quilting" with Alex Anderson. Learn color theory for your quilts, cut fabric properly, accurately sew blocks togher, sandwich your quilt, add inner and outer borders, square up, and finish with binding. In six lessons, you will have a finished quilt! Stitcher’s Quest gives 10% discount for student purchased supplies. 15 hours of classroom instruction.
Skill Level: Beginner with some sewing experience.

Hot Pockets Oven Mitt
Haute Pockets is a folded star project. The pockets are made with the Folded Star Stencil, then sewn onto the body of the mitt. We will be making the single oven mitt (Pocket Pot Holder) in class. The pattern also includes instructions for a mini table runner, Shoulder or lap burp colth for babies, or a pocket to hold your remote control.
